Here are some new photos that document what happened at another event associated with the big opening ceremonies for our beloved library. In order to give a powerful message to the local community, the Salvador grafita artists (primarily, the indomitable crew from NovaDezOrdem) painted a big wall in Ribeira, all based on the theme of Leonardo da Vinci, which, for them, represented a pretty big cultural hurdle. Judging from their mural, it is surprising to see what aspects of Leonardo’s works inspired them. Well, first of all, his famous self-portrait, with the flowing beard, but then also his anatomical drawing of a fetus in the womb and his kite-like flying machine. But above all, they were obviously intrigued by Leonardo’s backward writing!
