The ICBIE has become the meeting place for the city-sponsored Salvador Grafita project, which has succeeded in transforming the city, by encouraging street artists to make positive contributions to the community, instead of emarginating them and treating them as criminals.
Today’s meeting was particularly important for us, because we are asking them to take part in the events associated with the official opening of the Leonardo da Vinci International Library. The forty artists of the project will participate in the drawing contest, producing works inspired by Leonardo, and they will paint murals in the neighborhood and inside the ICBIE theater space as part of the celebrations on July 30th and 31st.
We are happy to support these fine artists, and we are thankful for their vibrant contributions to our work in the cidade baixa.
