On Saturday, June 18, the ICBIE welcomed our friend, the actress Joice Aglae, who presented to the public of Ribeira a performance piece written by her.
Extracted from the history of actresses from the commedia dell’arte, her text retraces the path marked out by women to win their first professional status, recognized by society and remunerated: the actress.
Interspersing the reading between the Italian language (the mother tongue of the commedia dell’arte) and the Portuguese language, her performance became an introduction for the debate that followed: Joice proved to be an excellent moderator, providing a rich dialogue on the current status of women, including the feminism and sexism, the role of the media and other interesting related topics.
To warm the typical June climate of rain and cool temperatures, we closed the evening by serving a delicious mungunzá.
