The ICBIE in Times of Pandemic and Social Isolation

As well as all activities related to teaching, education and cultural manifestations, the ICBIE has collected and closed its doors to contribute to the fight against the spread of the coronavirus and respect the WHO indications that social isolation is the only measure to protect itself at this time of pandemic.

Thanks to the collection of funds that we are still receiving we are sure to overcome this moment with less difficulty.

But the ICBIE is not completely stopped and is finding some ways to be close to those who need it most and to contribute in any way to society at this difficult time. That’s how it met the academy and became a partner of the group GeoCombateCovid19 – BA (https://sites.google.com/view/geocombatecovid19ba/in%C3%ADcio) in the realization of OPEN STREET MAP DATA DAY – UFBA: Communities Mapping Communities. The event, which will be held on June 10 in a virtual way, aims to promote the popularization of mapping systems that adopt open data, especially OPEN STREET MAP, with university entrants and young people from vulnerable areas of the municipality of Salvador. The resource collected will serve to support young people from vulnerable communities of Salvador, partners of the project, so that they can stay connected to the Internet at this time of crisis! Helping them to stay in their homes, to participate in events like this, graduating, informing themselves and supporting their families and community!
