Exhibitions of handicrafts, artistic presentations and performances were the main elements of the EBM (exhibition, bazaar and music), held last Saturday, December 7th, at the ICBIE .
Groups and artists of the Peninsula Itapagipana, such as A Célula, Juliana Coelho (Mercadores de Cristais ), Gê Santos, Desvelo and Eixo4 brought together a diverse audience, though mainly comprised of young people involved in the projects ICBIE. Supported by the Institute, the creator Meg Boaventura brought together the entire team of collaborators to organize and to once again produce this festival that shook the neighborhood that night.
With music, A Bula, the first group to play was A Celula, one of the 14 finalists in the eleventh Educadora FM radio Music Festival, in the category, “Best music with words.” The singer-songwriter Juliana Coelho, vocalist of the group Mercadores de Cristais, played right afterwards, accompanied by her uncles, are experiencers musicians. Juliana presented a repertoire including her own pieces, along with others by Ney Matogrosso and Raul Seixas. The singer Gê Santos got the audience up to dance with an interpretation in the style of the “arrocha” music of Mina, the Mamonas Assassinas. With a nicely varied repertoire she has succeeded in moving the audience. The fourth musical attraction was the group Desvelo, who delighted the audience with a fine female rock voice. To end the night, and again in rock style, the band Eixo4, already known from various festivals, including the XIV College of the University of Brasilia Festival and “Alagohell” (Alagoinhas – BA) took the stage.
During each interval between the shows, funny skits were presented by actors Géssica, Allan, David, Luan and Victor, members of the Little Theater and Music Company of the ICBIE. After all, the idea of the event was to raise funds for the ICBIE music and theater company, as Marlene de Souza, ICBIE’s vice president, explained, remarking that the event is an exercise that puts citizenship and philanthropy into practice.
Keeping with the evening’s extraordinary creativity, even the costumes used by the actors were taken from the clothing shown in the bazaar. But there weren’t just pieces of used clothing available, there were also handbags designed and painted by Ixlutx and T-shirts silk-screened by Josemar Oliveira shown and offered for sale.
The ICBIE is thankful for the collaboration and participation of all in this Second EBM, and especially wants to take advantage of this opportunity to give due credit to Fabio Gentil, who “has been our right arm, seeing as he mounted the stage, installed the lights and was responsible for sound and lighting throughout the event. He has been the heart of this beautiful festival,” says the creator of EBM Meg Boaventura .
and next year… there will be even more!
