The ICBIE participated in the organization of an event centered upon a book presentation of the Poets in the Park Movement, a homage to the anarchist poet Antonio Short and to the Ribeira Experimental Art Group (GERA), a cultural group of the Itapagipe Peninsula that, during the 1980s, distinguished the cultural scene of the low city, based upon the Pedagogy of the Oppressed of Paulo Freire and the theater of the oppressed of Augusto Boal.
The event took place on the 13th of May at the Costa & Silva school, here in Ribeira, and for the occasion the ICBIE LIttle Theater Company presented dramatic readings of poetry and extracts from the poem “The Slave Ship” (“O navio negreiro”).
