GIANT LESSON IN RIBEIRA’S COSTA & SILVA SCHOOL

GIANT LESSON IN RIBEIRA’S COSTA & SILVA SCHOOL

Last Saturday, the 7th of October, about 150 students from the State School “Presidente Costa & Silva” and other schools from the Itapagipe peninsula had the opportunity to participate in a cost-free session with a simulation of the ENEM (National Exam of High School proficiency), which is an elaborate test developed by the Ministry of Education to verify the mastery of student competence and ability at the end of secondary studies, and is necessary for entry to university enrollment.

The idea of a giant lesson  was born through a collaboration between professor Renato Dorea, the ICBIE, the Education Secretary of the Bahia State Government, the Peninsula rowing club and the administration of the school. During the six hour long session, the students participated in simulations in mathematics, human sciences, writing, physics and chemistry. But there was also time for diversion, featuring the group Hop Evolução Mc´s, that roused the students with their musical repertoire and choreography.

The event was a great success and we hope that next year it can be repeated, involving even more students who are attending high schools on the Itapagipe peninsula.
