On Sunday, August 17th, 2014, in Ribeira, the first race of the annual Bahian rowing championship was held.
For the occasion, as part of the permanent exhibition of the Historic Memory of the Itapagipe peninsula, the ICBIE dedicated a part of the exposition to photographs, articles and documents about the regattas and the four historic teams that have participated in them: Vitoria, Santa Cruz, San Salvador and Itapagipe.
The Institute kept its doors open to the entire community, as it gathered to take part in the big event, gathering signatures from the visitors and contributing to the commemoration of this important occasion.
The members of the ICBIE Afro Dance Group, the ABEAC Capoeira group, a group doing Tae Kwon Do, belly dancers and modern dance troupes all participated, giving performances that enlivened the day.
