Dear friends, first of all we apologize for the long silence, but unfortunately we had some technical problems in our site/blog and could not publish news for a long time. This, however, does not mean that we have not carried on with our activities …. on the contrary, the activities of the ICBIE in the last semester are particularly lively! In July the Italian and English courses started: Italian with 3 classes and English with 4, meaning that we have language lessons from Monday to Saturday, every week. Together with the language lessons, the theater workshops started again on Saturdays, this time coordinated by Emile Dutra, a newcomer with the help of our energetic, funny and always good humored Daryth Davey.
The other novelty of the semester is a collaboration with Paola Rizzo, an Italian anthropology student who, taking advantage of her research in collaboration with the Federal University (UFBA) in Salvador, is offering to the young people of the ICBIE a series seminars of “experimental” anthropology, treating a different theme in each meeting . And last but not least, the ICBIE has once again offered the much requested lessons in drawing and observation: it is a source of great pride for us, because one of the first students of the drawing course held between 2008 and 2009 is now our instructor! We are talking about Josemar Oliveira, now an established artist in the suburban art and graffiti scene with the artistic name of Sagaz.
In short, we will be giving you news of many other activities and events that have already taken place as well as others that will be realized in the next few weeks!
