Well, here’s an interesting revelation about our beautiful old building on the bay in Ribeira: for a time, it was the headquarters of the Bahia soccer club! Pietro discovered this amazing fact when he was asked if a film troupe could come in and shoot an interview with a veteran Bahia fan in the front room, where the club had its main office, for a new documentary film about the glorious club’s history. There’s a lot of buzz about Bahia these days, since this year’s triumphant promotion into the top division of Brazilian soccer (last Sunday, they won in Rio against last year’s champions, Flamengo, three to one!) and now the documentary is ready for release, opening in Brazilian cinemas on September 30th.
