It’s cold. I’m looking at a pallid winter sunset as I affectionately browse through photos and videos of Ribeira and I don’t want to make anyone sad: “the nostalgia for you and for Salvador, too” doesn’t include remorse. You were all great, welcoming me like only a great little community such as yours can do. I will invite all my friends and acquaintances to do as I did, to discover new places and also in a small way, without becoming rhetorical, to re-discover or re-find themselves.<\/p>\n
The trip went well, long but fun. Next to me was a woman who carried a life-sized statue of Saint Barbara. After discussing and arguing with the cabin crew, she came aboard with the protecting Saint. A man next to me decided to finish reading a novel through the night, but I managed to sleep and didn’t complain…<\/p>\n
On the flight from Madrid to Rome I was surrounded by mothers and crying babies, but also in that occasion, I didn’t grumble…<\/p>\n
It must be that Brazil has a strange effect on you, it changes you, at least a little bit.<\/p>\n
My friends, I wish all of you a smooth continuation of the festival for ICBIE’s ten years, with the hope of returning to join you and collaborate together: in the meantime I enjoy my Roman walks with a particular smile, which is the most important gift from this fascinating, mysterious and incredible Brazilian land!<\/p>\n

Faz frio. Estou assistindo um p\u00e1lido p\u00f4r do sol invernal e olho com afeto as fotos e os v\u00eddeos da Ribeira feito com voc\u00eas, amigos do ICBIE. Discursos longos e entediantes s\u00e3o in\u00fateis e seriam impregnados demais de nostalgia e n\u00e3o quero entristecer ningu\u00e9m: \u201ca saudade de voc\u00eas e de Salvador tamb\u00e9m\u201d.\u00a0 N\u00e3o posso me lamentar, voc\u00eas foram grandes e me acolheram como somente uma pequena \u2013 grande comunidade como a vossa, como a nossa, sabe fazer.<\/p>\n
Convidarei todos meus amigos e conhecidos para fazer a mesma experi\u00eancia, para descobrir novos lugares e um pouco, sem ret\u00f3rica, para\u00a0reencontrar-se.<\/p>\n
A viagem correu bem, foi demorada, mas divertida. Ao meu lado tinha uma senhora com uma est\u00e1tua de Santa Barbara de dimens\u00e3o humana. Depois de ter brigado e discutido com a tripula\u00e7\u00e3o ela subiu no avi\u00e3o, com a est\u00e1tua da sua protetora… um homem ao meu lado decidiu terminar\u00a0\u00a0um romance de noite, mas eu dormi do mesmo jeito e n\u00e3o reclamei….
\nNo trecho de Madrid a Roma eu estava circundado de m\u00e3es e crian\u00e7as que choravam mas, tamb\u00e9m nesse momento, eu n\u00e3o resmunguei… Enfim o Brasil faz um efeito estranho, pelo menos um pouco, te muda!<\/p>\n
Amigos, \u00a0desejo um bom prosseguimento do festival dos 10 anos do Icbie com a esperan\u00e7a no cora\u00e7\u00e3o de poder voltar, encontrar todos voc\u00eas e colaborar: enquanto isso aproveito os meus passeios romanos com aquele sorriso que \u00e9 a mais importante heran\u00e7a que te deixa essa fascinante, misteriosa e inacredit\u00e1vel terra brasileira!<\/p>\n

Fa freddo. Sto assistendo al tramonto di un pallido sole invernale e sfoglio con affetto le foto e i video su Ribeira fatti insieme a voi, amici dell’ICBIE. Inutili lunghi e tediosi discorsi, sarebbero troppo intrisi di nostalgia e non voglio intristire nessuno: “a saudade de voc\u00ea e de Salvador tamb\u00e9m” non ha rimpianti, siete stati grandi e mi avete accolto come solo una piccola-grande comunit\u00e0 come la vostra, come la nostra, sa fare. Inviter\u00f2 tutti i miei amici e conoscenti a fare la stessa esperienza, per scoprire posti nuovi e un po’, senza retorica, per riscoprire o per ritrovare se stessi.<\/p>\n
Il viaggio \u00e9 andato bene, \u00e9 stato lungo, ma divertente. Accanto a me c’era una signora che portava una statua di Santa Barbara di dimensioni umane. Dopo aver litigato e discusso con la Crew dell’equipaggio \u00e9 salita a bordo, lei e la sua Santa protettrice…Un uomo accanto a me aveva deciso di terminare un romanzo di notte, ma io ho dormito lo stesso e non mi sono lamentato…
\nNel tragitto da Madrid a Roma ero circondato da mamme e bambini che piangevano ma, anche in quel frangente, non ho borbottato… Insomma il Brasile ti fa uno strano effetto e, almeno un po’, ti cambia!<\/p>\n
Amici, auguro a tutti voi un buon proseguimento del festival dei 10 anni dell’ICBIE con la speranza nel cuore di poter tornare a trovarvi e di collaborare insieme: intanto mi godo le mie passeggiate romane con quel sorriso che \u00e9 la pi\u00f9 importante eredit\u00e0 che ti lascia questa affascinante, misteriosa e incredibile terra brasiliana!
