ICBIE’S LATEST CULTURAL EVENT: “THE BALL IS ROUND’ <\/strong>
\nEvent produced by the Institute of Culture Brazil Italy Europe (ICBIE)
\nin collaboration with the Lahn Artists Association from Germany<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Ball is Round\u201d consists of an event\u00a0 dedicated to appreciating the most popular and widely practiced sporting culture in Brazil, o futebol<\/em>.\u00a0 Therefore, this Sunday, June 15th, the Institute of Culture Brazil Italy Europe (ICBIE), in collaboration with the German association Lahn Artists, promotes this event, which will take place in the Institute, located in the Ribeira district.<\/p>\n

The opening of “The Ball Is Round” project will consist of an exposition, for the first time in Brazil, of the works of the painter Renate Kuby, with the title AN DIE NATUR – SOBRE A NATUREZA – TO NATURE and the participation on several graffiti artists from the city of Salvador who will paint a collective work on interior and exterior spaces of the ICBIE.\u00a0 There will also be an exhibition of drawings on the theme of “Our Cup.” realized by the children in the workshops of the plastic artist Josemar Oliveira, a performance of Afro-dance by the group lead by Emerson Ataide, a musical performance by the young Juliana Coelho and others, culminating in a flash mob in the streets of the district.<\/p>\n

At the same time, there will be a projection of photos from the international competition that was launched on social sites, asking for professional and amateur photos on the theme of popular football (soccer for the Yanks).\u00a0 During the run of the exposition, the best photos will be rated by the visitors, and during the closing ceremony, on July 7th, four winners will be awarded prizes.<\/p>\n

The project is the creation of an Englishman and football lover, Steve Whitton, and it is based on the premise that the ball is the only truly indispensable item for making a football match.\u00a0 Therefore, we use that premise to carry things back to the essential simplicity and popularity of the game, to provoke a possible alternative to the hype and the media coverage of the World Cup in Brazil.<\/p>\n

The goal of the event is to take advantage of the opportunity that the Cup in Brazil offers, to make the art, the history and the traditions of Brazil known to the whole world, as a tribute to the real wealth of the country, through the organization and the realization of events and cultural initiatives that promote an alternative, responsible and sustainable breed of tourism.<\/p>\n

\u201cA Bola \u00e9 Redonda\u201d trata-se de um evento de valoriza\u00e7\u00e3o da cultura do esporte mais conhecido e praticado no Brasil, o futebol.\u00a0 Portanto neste domingo, dia 15\/06, o Instituto Cultural Brasil It\u00e1lia Europa (ICBIE), em colabora\u00e7\u00e3o com a associa\u00e7\u00e3o alem\u00e3 Lahn Artist, promove o evento que acontece na sede do pr\u00f3prio instituto, no bairro da Ribeira.<\/p>\n

A abertura do projeto \u201cA bola \u00e9 redonda\u201d prev\u00ea a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o, pela primeira vez no Brasil, dos desenhos da pintora Renate Kuby com titulo AN DIE NATUR – SOBRE A NATUREZA, a\u00a0participa\u00e7\u00e3o de alguns grafiteiros da cidade de Salvador para a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de uma pintura coletiva nos espa\u00e7os internos e externos do ICBIE. Conta tamb\u00e9m com a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o de desenhos sobre o tema \u201cA nossa Copa\u201d realizados por crian\u00e7as das oficinas do artista pl\u00e1stico Josemar Oliveira, exibi\u00e7\u00e3o de dan\u00e7a afro do grupo liderado por Emerson Ataide, a apresenta\u00e7\u00e3o musical da jovem Juliana Coelho e convidados, al\u00e9m da realiza\u00e7\u00e3o de flash mob pelas ruas do bairro.<\/p>\n

Paralelamente, ser\u00e3o projetadas fotos do concurso internacional promovido nas redes sociais para fot\u00f3grafos profissionais e amadores, com o tema futebol popular. Durante o per\u00edodo da exposi\u00e7\u00e3o as melhores fotos ser\u00e3o escolhidas pelos visitantes e, no encerramento, no dia 12\/07, as quatro mais votadas ser\u00e3o premiadas.<\/p>\n

O projeto idealizado pelo ingl\u00eas e amante de futebol Steve Whitton, parte da simples premissa de que a bola \u00e9 o \u00fanico e verdadeiro elemento indispens\u00e1vel para que o jogo de futebol possa acontecer.\u00a0 Ent\u00e3o, aproveitamos a ocasi\u00e3o para reconduzi-lo \u00e0 sua normal simplicidade e popularidade, para delinear uma alternativa poss\u00edvel \u00e0s discuss\u00f5es, questionamentos e \u00e0s pompas ligadas \u00e0 Copa do Mundo no Brasil.<\/p>\n
