The second film in the latest Cineforum series dedicated to the History of Brazil, will be shown at 6:30 PM on Friday. This time, the film will be The Mission, directed by Roland Joffé, released in 1986, which describes a nasty incident caused by the Treaty of Madrid (1750), which assigned a part of Spanish Jesuit Paraguay to the Portuguese. The film features a famous soundtrack by Ennio Morricone, who received an Oscar nomination for it, but the big prize went to Herbie Hancock for Bertrand Tavernier’s wonderful film Round Midnight.
