I just got back after two weeks of full immersion at the ICBIE and I\u2019m already full of \u201csaudade\u201d. Why? Because I felt so at home, from when I arrived at the airport and saw the smiling faces of Pietro and Julio to when I left, accompanied by a delightful ceremony of departure. I tried to get the most out of this two week sojourn, to get to know the people, to talk to the students and teachers, with Pietro and Marlene, and photographing, filming and participating in all the various activities.<\/p>\n

With all the material I gathered, and on the strength of my experiences, I would like to succeed in doing fundraising activities for the ICBIE and its projects, because I\u2019m convinced that it is doing fundamental work for the socio-cultural development of the local Salvador communities, besides the rich cultural exchange between Italy, Europe and America.<\/p>\n

So many faces, smiles and glances are printed in my heart, each one with its personal story made of fears, suffering, hopes and passions: from the beautiful Adriana and her natural wisdom, to the shyness of Mito, the strength and courage of Augusto, the infinite sweetness of Lu, the determination of Fernando, and the joy of Val.<\/p>\n

And how can I describe Marlene and Pietro? Ever present, always ready to offer a kind word, a gesture, or precious advice. Certainly there was no shortage of opportunities for celebration, and it\u2019s well known how Italians and Brazilians both like this. To keep up the ICBIE\u2019s culinary traditions, we organized an all-Italian dinner with an impressive menu: Lu\u2019s famous pizza, pasta with sausages and broccoli, where Pietro was able to show off his creativity with the flambe\u2019 sausages, a colorful salad that kept the students busy and enthusiastic, ending with a big log of hypercaloric chocolate that was a great hit. There was so much participation in the preparation that some of the people copied down the recipes, so they could make them at home. The next day the capoeira group of the Filhos do Sol Nascente<\/em> honored us with their presence, putting on a demonstration of the various capoeira styles and the samba de roda, in which we all participated, more or less spontaneously.<\/p>\n

Seeing as it was also Nadson\u2019s birthday, there was no shortage of delicious sweets and empanadas, thanks to the team of cooks comprising Lu, Luane and Adriana.\u00a0 And to finish in style, everyone danced salsa, cha-cha-cha, forro and naturally the samba.

Depois de duas semanas de full-immersion no ICBIE voltei e ja estou com tanta saudade. Porqu\u00ea? Porque me senti como em casa desde quando cheguei ao aeroporto e vi os rostos sorridentes de Pietro e Julio, at\u00e9 quando sa\u00ed, acompanhada por uma divertida cerim\u00f4nia de despedida. Nas duas semanas de estadia tentei fazer o m\u00e1ximo para conhecer pessoas, conversar com alunos, professores, com Pietro e Marlene, para fotografar, filmar, participar em diferentes actividades.<\/p>\n

Com todo o material coletado e tendo a for\u00e7a da minha experi\u00eancia, queria fazer atividade de fundraising para o ICBIE e seus projetos, porque estou convencida de que o Institudo faz uma atividade fundamental de desenvolvimento s\u00f3cio-cultural e educacional das comunidades locais em Salvador, al\u00e9m de um rico interc\u00e2mbio cultural com a It\u00e1lia, a Europa e a Am\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n

Guardei no meu cora\u00e7\u00e3o tantos rostos, sorrisos, olhares, cada um com sua pr\u00f3pria hist\u00f3ria pessoal feita de medos, sofrimentos, esperan\u00e7as, paix\u00f5es: da belissima Adriana com a sua sabedoria, \u00e0 timidez de Mito, da for\u00e7a e coragem de Augusto \u00e0 infinita do\u00e7ura de Lou, da garra de Fernando \u00e0 alegria de Val.<\/p>\n

E o que dizer de Marlene e Pietro? Sempre presentes, sempre prontos com uma palavra, um gesto, um conselho valioso. N\u00e3o faltaram ocasi\u00f5es para festejar e se sabe que italianos e brasileiros tem muita semelha\u00e7a nisso. Para continuar a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o culin\u00e1ria do ICBIE organizamos um jantar totalmente italiano com cardapio de todo respeito: a famosa pizza da Lou, massa com salsicha e br\u00f3colis, onde Pietro demonstrou criatividade com salsichas \u201cflamb\u00e9\u201d, uma colorida salada ni\u00e7oise (dos alunos participaram com entusiasmo \u00e0 prepara\u00e7ao dela) e, para terminar, salame de chocolate, muito cal\u00f3rico, por\u00e9m muito apreciado. A participa\u00e7\u00e3o foi alta e alguns convidados at\u00e9 copiaram as receitas para depois repetir em casa. O dia seguinte, o grupo de capoeira Filhos do Sol Nascente nos honrou com a sua presen\u00e7a, dando demonstra\u00e7\u00e3o dos v\u00e1rios estilos de capoeira e de samba di roda, em que todos, um de cada vez, participaram mais ou menos espontaneamente.<\/p>\n

Sendo tamb\u00e9m o anivers\u00e1rio de Nadson, n\u00e3o faltaram \u00f3timos doces e deliciosas empanadas, gra\u00e7as ao grupo de cozinheiras composto por Lou, Luane e Adriana. E para terminar bem, todo mundo a dan\u00e7ar salsa, cha-cha, forr\u00f3 e, \u00e9 claro, samba.<\/p>\n

Sono tornata da poco da 2 settimane di full-immersion all’ICBIE ed ho gi\u00e0 tanta \u201csaudade\u201d. Perch\u00e9? Perch\u00e9 mi sono sentita come in casa, da quando sono arrivata all’aeroporto e ho visto le facce sorridenti di Pietro e Julio, a quando sono partita, accompagnata da una divertente cerimonia di \u201cdespedida\u201d. Ho cercato di sfruttare al massimo queste due settimane di soggiorno per conoscere le persone, parlare con gli studenti, gli insegnanti, con Pietro e Marlene, fotografare, filmare, partecipare alle varie attivit\u00e0.<\/p>\n

Con tutto il materiale raccolto e forte della mia esperienza vorrei riuscire a fare attivit\u00e0 di fundraising per l’ICBIE e i suoi progetti, perch\u00e9 sono convinta che svolgono un’attivit\u00e0 fondamentale di sviluppo socio-culturale ed educativo delle comunit\u00e0 locali di Salvador nonch\u00e9 un ricco interscambio culturale con Italia, Europa ed America.<\/p>\n

Tanti volti, sorrisi, sguardi mi sono rimasti nel cuore, ognuno con la sua storia personale fatta di paure, sofferenze, speranze, passioni: dalla bellissima Adriana e la sua saggezza popolare, alla timidezza di Mito, dalla forza e coraggio di Augusto alla infinita dolcezza di Lou, dalla grinta di Fernando all’allegria di Val.<\/p>\n

E che dire di Marlene e Pietro?\u00a0 Sempre presenti, sempre disponibili con una parola, un gesto, un consiglio prezioso. Certamente non sono mancate le occasioni per festeggiare, ed e’ noto che italiani e brasiliani in questo sono molto simili. Per continuare la tradizione culinaria dell’ICBIE abbiamo organizzato una cena tutta italiana con un menu di tutto rispetto: la famosa pizza di Lou, pasta con salsicce e broccoli, dove Pietro ha dato prova di creativit\u00e0 con le salsicce \u201cflambe’\u201d, una colorata insalata nizzarda alla cui preparazione gli allievi hanno partecipato con entusiasmo, e per finire con un salame di cioccolato ipercalorico ma molto apprezzato. C’\u00e8 stata molta partecipazione e alcuni hanno addirittura copiato le ricette esposte per ripeterle poi a casa. Il giorno successivo il gruppo di capoeira Filhos do Sol Nascente<\/em> ci ha onorato con la sua presenza, facendo una dimostrazione dei vari stili di capoeira e del samba di roda, a cui tutti uno alla volta abbiamo partecipato, pi\u00f9 o meno spontaneamente.<\/p>\n

Visto che era anche il compleanno di Nadson, non sono mancati dei buonissimi dolci e delle deliziose empanadas, grazie al team di cuoche composto da Lou, Luane ed Adriana. E per finire in bellezza, tutti a ballare la salsa, il cha-cha, il forro’ e naturalmente il samba.<\/p>\n
