Once again, the great photojournalism of our friend Paranagu\u00e1 keeps us abreast of the latest news from the Bahia Grafita Street Art Week.\u00a0 Here is a chronicle of days three and four (with an English translation below)<\/p>\n

No segundo dia da pintura na\u00a0Quadra 4, Conjunto Vivendas da Massaranduba, bairro da cidade baixa,\u00a0foi a vez das grafiteiras\u00a0LiaFeniz (SP) e\u00a0Viber (MG), acompanhadas dos companheiros Ignoreporfavor e Zack, respectivamente, pintarem seus personagens na parede dos im\u00f3veis.\u00a0O baiano Sluts tamb\u00e9m deu sua contribui\u00e7\u00e3o, al\u00e9m do colombiano SRC e\u00a0dos paulistas Aine, Origi e Ketu, que concluiram seus trabalhos no in\u00edcio da tarde de segunda-feira (15).<\/p>\n

Tour na Ba\u00eda de todos os Santos<\/font><\/p>\n

Grafiteiros brasileiros e estrangeiros, na companhia dos organizadores do 1\u00ba Encontro Internacional de Grafite em Salvador, conheceram a maior ba\u00eda brasileira, a bordo de uma caravela, fazendo o percurso Terminal Na\u00fatico\/Forte Santo Ant\u00f4nio da barra\/Forte S\u00e3o Marcelo\/Terminal Na\u00fatico.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A Ba\u00eda de Todos os Santos (BTS) \u00e9 a maior ba\u00eda brasileira e a segunda maior do mundo e est\u00e1 localizada no estado da Bahia. \u00c9 dela que se origina o nome capitania<\/strong> e futuro prov\u00ecncia <\/strong>e estado baiano<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Era conhecida pelos navegadores portugueses desde 1501; sua localiza\u00e7\u00e3o estrat\u00e9gica na costa brasileira propiciava as liga\u00e7\u00f5es Portugal – Brasil – \u00c1frica – \u00c1sia. A expedi\u00e7\u00e3o que saiu em reconhecimento \u00e0 terra descoberta por Pedro \u00c1lvares Cabral deparou-se com uma grande ba\u00eda – batizada de Ba\u00eda de Todos os Santos pelo navegador Am\u00e9rico Vespurcio, por ter sido descoberta no dia 1\u00ba de novembro.<\/p>\n

Um dia\u00a0inesquec\u00edvel<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Na bela manh\u00e3 do dia 16, ap\u00f3s 507 anos da descoberta da Ba\u00eda de Todos os Santos, fizemos uma viagem no tempo a bordo da caravela “Pr\u00edncipe Regente”<\/strong>, uma r\u00e9plica das embarca\u00e7\u00f5es portuguesas, sob o comando de um capit\u00e3o, tendo como tripula\u00e7\u00e3o uma marinheira e um guia, vestidos com trajes daquela \u00e9poca. O visual, incomum nos dias atuais, despertou a aten\u00e7\u00e3o de todos. Muitos registros foram feitos com alguns dos estrangeiros colocando o chap\u00e9u e simulando o comando da embarca\u00e7\u00e3o. A brincadeira divertida, alegrava o ambiente.\u00a0O restante do grupo ouvia atentamente o guia, que se desdobrava nas explica\u00e7\u00f5es, uma forma de demonstrar seus conhecimentos sobre os fatos hist\u00f3ricos, a cultura baiana, religiosidade, entre outros.<\/p>\n

No seu interior, existem v\u00e1rias salas com exposi\u00e7\u00f5es na\u00faticas, restaurantes e lanchonete. Na parte superior, no centro, um grande espa\u00e7o para pr\u00e1tica de competi\u00e7\u00f5es de skate, al\u00e9m\u00a0da\u00a0vista privilegiada da Ba\u00eda de Todos os Santos e os seus entornos.<\/p>\n

On the second day of painting in Project 4 of the Conjunto Vivendas<\/em> in Massaranduba, a neighborhood of the cidade baixa<\/em>, it was up to the two Brazilian grafiteiras<\/em>\u00a0LiaFeniz (SP) e\u00a0Viber (MG), accompanied by two comrades Ignoreporfavor and Zack, to paint their pictures on the walls of two buildings.\u00a0 The Bahian writer Sluts also made his contribution, along with the Colombian SRC and Aine, Origi e Ketu from S\u00e3o Paulo, who finished up\u00a0 works that were begun on Monday afternoon (15).<\/p>\n

Tour on the Bay of All Saints<\/font><\/p>\n

Graffiti artists from Brazil and abroad, accompanied by the directors of the First International Meeting of Graffiti in Salvador, visit the biggest bay in Brazil aboard a caravel, following a route from the Nautical Terminal to the Fort of S. Anthony in Barra and the Fort of S. Marcel.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Bay of All Saints, the biggest bay in Brazil and the second biggest in the world, is located in the state of Bahia.\u00a0 It is gives it name to the port authority, the future province, and the Bahian State.<\/p>\n

It was known to the Portuguese explorers from the year 1501, and its strategic location on the Brazilian coast made it a cardinal point on the axis Portugal – Brazil – Africa – Asia. \u00a0 The expedition that came to recognize that the land originally discovered by Pedro \u00c1lvares Cabral also had a huge bay was Amerigo Vespucci, who named it the Bay of All Saints, because he discovered it on the first of November.<\/p>\n

An unforgettable day <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 On the fine morning of the 16th, 507 years after the discovery of the Bay of All Saints, we planned a trip back in time, aboard the caravel “Pr\u00edncipe Regente”<\/strong>, a replica of a Portuguese ship, under the command of a capitan, a lady sailor and a guide, all dressed in period costumes.\u00a0 The sight of it, so different from what we are used to today, caught everyone’s attention.\u00a0 Many photos were taken with some of the foreigners posing with the funny hats and pretending to command the ship.\u00a0 The merry crew kept everyone happy.\u00a0 Everybody else listened attentively to the guide, who gave detailed explainations, showing a thorough knowledge of the historical facts, and of Bahian culture, religion, and so on.<\/p>\n

The last stop was at the S. Marcel Fort.\u00a0 Inside, there are different rooms with nautical equipment, plus a restaurant and a snack bar.\u00a0 On the top, in the center, is a large space where we could improvise skateboarding competitions, while at the same time enjoying a privileged view of the Bay of All Saints and its environs.<\/p>\n
