{"id":682,"date":"2008-08-23T01:55:33","date_gmt":"2008-08-22T23:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icbie.net\/blog\/?p=682"},"modified":"2008-08-23T01:55:33","modified_gmt":"2008-08-22T23:55:33","slug":"big-news-from-paranagua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icbie.net.br\/it\/big-news-from-paranagua\/","title":{"rendered":"Big News from Paranagu\u00e1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/blog_old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/paranagua03.jpg\" title=\"Paranagu\u00e1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/blog_old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/paranagua03.jpg\" alt=\"Paranagu\u00e1\" height=\"386\" width=\"449\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Assiduous readers of this blog have heard his name come up often, because our friend Paranagu\u00e1 has become a very familiar face at the ICBIE.\u00a0 Now we all have an opportunity to get to know him better!\u00a0 For the last quarter century, this talented artist-photographer has combed the streets of Salvador, documenting secret Bahian cultural treasures hidden in the oddest places, and this search blossomed into a precocious passion for street art, a fascination that has grown over the years, following the the city&#8217;s own ascendency, as it became a world-class graffiti capital.\u00a0 Last February, his works were featured at our <em>Ribeira das Artes<\/em> festival, then in April and May, he followed Pietro and the <em>Salvador grafita<\/em> artists on their tour to France, Germany, Spain and Italy, snapping thousands of gorgeous pictures, not only of the artists and their works, but also capturing fascinating glimpses into European life, set amongst its monuments and in its museums.\u00a0 Since his return to Brazil, he has frequented ICBIE courses in English and Italian, and loves to find new opportunities to show off his art to an ever wider audience.<\/p>\n<p>He has opened a well-stocked website, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jfparanagua.com.br\/\">www.jfparanagua.com<\/a>, where, after a delightful introductory flash video, you can access his galleries in both Portuguese and English.\u00a0 Don&#8217;t miss the great video that documents the 2nd Graffiti Meeting in Acaraj\u00e9 (described in this blog on August 12).<\/p>\n<p>He has also announced an important exposition of his works, to be held at the big Lapa Shopping Center in Salvador from the 25th to the 30th of this month.\u00a0 The show represents a retrospective of Salvador Street Art since 1983 (which is more or less when most of the city&#8217;s present graffiti stars were born).\u00a0 Here is his official press release: practice your Portuguese!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Arte de Rua em exposi\u00e7\u00e3o\u00a0no Shopping<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/blog_old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/web_expocenterlapa.jpg\" title=\"Paranagu\u00e1 show in Salvador\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/blog_old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2008\/08\/web_expocenterlapa.jpg\" alt=\"Paranagu\u00e1 show in Salvador\" height=\"634\" width=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>De 25 a 30 deste m\u00eas, a exposi\u00e7\u00e3o fotogr\u00e1fica &#8220;A Arte na Rua&#8221; do fot\u00f3grafo e rela\u00e7\u00f5es p\u00fablicas, Jos\u00e9 Francisco Paranagu\u00e1 Guimar\u00e3es, volta a cartaz no Espa\u00e7o de Eventos (1\u00ba Piso) &#8211; Shopping Center Lapa.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Paineis, textos e um acervo de\u00a0aproximadamente 120 imagens v\u00e3o contar a hist\u00f3ria da arte de rua, mostrando as variadas interven\u00e7\u00f5es visuais\u00a0em Salvador.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>De forma cronol\u00f3gica, a mostra exibe os grafismos iniciais, com frases metaf\u00f3ricas e enigm\u00e1ticas do per\u00edodo de 1983, at\u00e9 os tempos atuais, expondo\u00a0os trabalhos de artistas pl\u00e1sticos, utilizando mosaicos com fragmentos de cer\u00e2mica e os belos grafites dos jovens integrantes do Projeto Salvador Grafita.
