Another face to face encounter for the ICBIE, thanks to the work and the contacts of our group of graffiti friends.\u00a0 On Saturday, July 25th, Consuelo and I were introduced to the GRUCON – Grupo de uni\u00e3o e Consci\u00eancia negra<\/em>, or “Group for Unity and Black Conscience” – in Massaranduba, one of the neighborhoods where Julio and his friends from Nova 10 Ordem operate.<\/p>\n

The GRUCON was particularly happy to offer its facilities for a drawing workshop that the graffiti artists will be offering, starting next Monday, as a part of the Oficina de Rua project.<\/p>\n

The GRUCON has a long history: born as the MEFE (Movement for Evangelism, or something similar), it became GRUCON about 23 years ago, as a meeting place for the large Black community that lives in the area, to defend its culture and traditions, besides offering a needed center for social work for the area’s children.<\/p>\n

As often happens in these situations, the only real contributions come from local people who believe in the project, but without any support from ufficial institutions or from the government.\u00a0 The GRUCON attempts to organize activities for children, to offer them an alternative to the many dangers of life on the streets.\u00a0 They run classes of capoeira and of percussion, but also periodic meetings, where citizens can discuss their lives in the neighborhood.<\/p>\n

On Sunday, the 26th, it was GRUCON’s birthday celebration and our graffiti friends – street artists who by nature have an innate feel for the place – made their colorful and meaningful graffiti works, in order to make the center more lively, in their own way: of their own free will, with their bright colors, with the conviction of their social work, with the will and the desire to do something for their own community. \u00a0 The day was useful also to spread the word about the drawing workshop for kids from age 12 to 17, and they immediately got fired up, with at least fifteen kids signing up for the workshop.\u00a0\u00a0 We hope that the workshops will help, even in some small way, to improve the lives of these kids, who, all day long, were so generous with their smiles and affection.<\/p>\n

It was a day full of emotions and community involvement, (another big thank you to Julio, Jodson, Marcos, Iel and Bigode), and for me, as usual, I went away with mixed feelings in my heart.\u00a0 On one side, the joy of having lived a whole day, laughing and playing with these kids, but on the other, the awareness of the limits of our actions, almost a sense of impotence, against the backdrop of such difficult and complex situations… and this is only one of many.<\/p>\n

Maybe it’s best to just get to work, even just to make a graffiti, as our friends from Nova10Ordem know so well.<\/p>\n

Outra reuni\u00e3o-confronto para o ICBIE gra\u00e7as ao trabalho e aos contatos do nosso grupo de amigos grafiteiros. S\u00e1bado, 25 julho eu e Consuelo conhecemos o GRUCON – Grupo de uni\u00e3o e Consci\u00eancia negra – em Massaranduba, um dos bairros onde atuam Julio e seus amigos da Nova10Ordem.<\/p>\n

O GRUCON foi bem contente de fornecer espa\u00e7os para a oficina de desenho que os grafiteirso oferecer\u00e3o a partir da pr\u00f3xima segunda-feira, dentro do projeto Oficina de Rua. O grupo tem uma longa hist\u00f3ria, que come\u00e7ou como MEFE (movimento para a evangeliza\u00e7\u00e3o, ou algo similar), s\u00e3o cerca de 23 anos que atua como GRUCON para acolher a grande comunidade negra que vive neste bairro e defender a tradi\u00e7\u00e3o e cultura, bem como para fornecer um valioso trabalho social, especialmente para a crian\u00e7a da regi\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

Como muitas vezes acontece nestes realidades, apenas com a contribui\u00e7\u00e3o m\u00ednima da popula\u00e7\u00e3o local que acredita nele, sem apoio de institui\u00e7\u00f5es oficiais e \u00f3rg\u00e3os governamentais, o GRUCON tenta organizar atividades para as crian\u00e7as, oferecendo uma alternativa \u00e0 vida da estrada que muitas vezes coloca-lhes em situa\u00e7\u00f5es de risco. Portanto a entidade organiza aulas de capoeira, percuss\u00e3o e reuni\u00f5es regulares para discutir, falar do que acontece no bairro.<\/p>\n

Domingo 26 houve a festa de anivers\u00e1rio do GRUCON e s\u00e1bado nossos amigos grafiteiros – artistas de rua que, por esta raz\u00e3o, t\u00eam contato com a estrada e com quem vive l\u00e1 – eles criaram grafites cheias de cores e expressivas para fazer mais colorida a sede social, no estilo deles:\u00a0 voluntariamente, com pr\u00f3prias tintas, com a convic\u00e7\u00e3o da pr\u00f3pria a\u00e7\u00e3o social, com a vontade e o desejo de fazer algo por a mesma comunidade deles. O dia foi utilizado para divulgar tamb\u00e9m a oficina de desenho para meninos entre 12 e 17 anos que j\u00e1 responderam entusiasticamente se matriculando em pelo menos uma quinzena. Esperamos que tamb\u00e9m estas oficinas concorram para tornar em pequena parte melhor a vida dessa crian\u00e7a que durante o dia todo nos deu sorrisos e emo\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>\n

Foi um dia cheio de emo\u00e7\u00e3o e de participa\u00e7\u00e3o da comunidade (obrigado, mais uma vez, Julio, Jodson, Marcos, Iel e Bigode) …eu, ainda uma vez, fui para casa com uma mistura de sentimentos no cora\u00e7\u00e3o. Por um lado, a alegria de ter vivido um dia brincando e sorrindo com essa crian\u00e7a, por outro lado, a consci\u00eancia dos limites de nossas a\u00e7\u00f5es, um pouco a sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de impot\u00eancia diante de situa\u00e7\u00f5es t\u00e3o dif\u00edceis e complexas …. e esta \u00e9 apenas uma das muitas.<\/p>\n

De qualquer maneira o importante \u00e9 fazer, mesmo um grafite como sabem os amigos da Nova10Ordem.<\/p>\n

Un altro incontro – confronto per l’ICBIE grazie al lavoro ed ai contatti del gruppo dei nostri amici graffitari. Sabato 25 luglio io e Consuelo abbiamo conosciuto il GRUCON – Grupo de uni\u00e3o e Consci\u00eancia\u00a0 negra – in Massaranduba, uno dei quartieri in cui operano Julio ed i suoi amici della Nova 10 Ordem.<\/p>\n

La GRUCON\u00a0\u00e9 stata ben contenta di offrire i suoi spazi per l’atelier di disegno che i graffittari offriranno a partire da lunedi prossimo nell’ambito del progetto Oficina de Rua.<\/p>\n

Il gruppo ha una storia antica, nato come MEFE (movimento per l’evangelizzazione o qualcosa di simile) \u00e9 da circa 23 anni GRUCON per accogliere la numerosa comunit\u00e1 negra che vive in questo quartiere e difenderne la tradizione e la cultura oltre che offrire un prezioso lavoro sociale soprattutto ai bambini dell’area.<\/p>\n

Come spesso succede in queste realt\u00e1 con il solo contributo minimo delle persone del posto che ci credono, senza appoggio e senza sostegno da istituzioni ufficiali, da organi del governo il Grucon cerca di organizzare attivit\u00e1 per i bambini per offrire loro un’alternativa alla vita di strada che spesso mette i bambini in diverse situazioni di rischio. Organizzano pertanto aule di capoeira, di percussioni e incontri periodici per discutere, parlare di cio che succcede nel quartiere stesso.<\/p>\n

Domenica 26 al Grucon c’\u00e9 stata\u00a0la sua stessa festa di compleanno e sabato i\u00a0nostri amici graffittari – artisti di strada che come tali hanno il contatto con la strada e con chi ci vive – hanno realizzato colorati e significativi graffiti per rendere pi\u00fa variopinta la sede, nel loro stile: volontariamente, con le loro tinte, con la convinzione della loro azione sociale, con la volont\u00e1 ed il desiderio di fare qualcosa per la loro stessa comunit\u00e1.. La\u00a0giornata \u00e9 servita anche a divulgare l’officina di disegno per i ragazzini dai 12 ai 17 anni che hanno risposto gi\u00e1 entusiasticamente iscrivendosi per lo meno in una quindicina alle officine stesse. Speriamo che anche questi laboratori di disegno contribuiscano a rendere in piccola parte migliore la vita di questi ragazzini che durante tutta la giornata ci hanno regalato sorrisi ed emozioni.<\/p>\n

E\u00b4stata una giornata ricca di emozioni e di partecipazione della comunit\u00e1, (ancora una volta grazie a Julio, Jodson, Marcos, Iel e Bigode)…io\u00a0come al solito sono tornata a casa con\u00a0nel cuore sentimenti contrastanti. Da una parte la gioia di aver vissuto una giornata\u00a0giocando e sorridendo con questi\u00a0bambini, dall’altra la consapevolezze del limite delle nostre azioni,\u00a0un p\u00f3 il senso di impotenza davanti a situazioni tanto difficili e complesse….e questa \u00e9 solo una delle tante.<\/p>\n

L’importante \u00e9 comunque fare, anche un graffito come sanno bene gli amici della Nova10Ordem.<\/p>\n
