{"id":7107,"date":"2014-07-12T10:46:16","date_gmt":"2014-07-12T08:46:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/?p=7107"},"modified":"2014-07-12T10:46:16","modified_gmt":"2014-07-12T08:46:16","slug":"news-from-paranagua","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icbie.net.br\/en\/news-from-paranagua\/","title":{"rendered":"News from Paranagu\u00e1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--:en-->&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Foreign Tourists visit the MAE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>News of vacationers in Salvador, the foreign couple Stephen Witton and Renate Kuby, an Englishman and an German lady, visited the installations of the Embasa Archeological Museum (MAE) during last Tuesday morning, July 8th.<\/p>\n<p>In agreement with the director of the MAE, Jos\u00e9 Paranagu\u00e1, the couple praised the visit, describing the museum as &#8220;very interesting, perfect, marvelous.&#8221;\u00a0 Paranagu\u00e1 described how Renate, for example, was impressed with the building, jo\u00e3o-de-barro, the tiles made by slaves, the stone inscriptions by the native indians, as well as the variety of marine species that were found during the work on an underwater emissary in Rio Vermelho.<\/p>\n<p>Stephen Witton also was struck by the ceramic fragments, the gears of the hydroelectric mills of the Bananeiras and the pictures of the ancient metal reservoirs, which were all of English origin.\u00a0 According to Paranagu\u00e1, Witton also praised the timeline sanitation panel, with information regarding the beginning of Salvador&#8217;s water works.\u00a0 &#8220;A beautiful exposition of archeological\u00a0 items,&#8221; he remarked.<\/p>\n<p>Renate Kuby is a plastic artist, professor and the present president of the Lahn artists association in Limburg, Germany. An exposition of her paintings entitled \u201cAn Die Natur\u201d, is currently being shown (until Saturday the 12th) at the Institute of Culture Brazil Italy Europe (ICBIE). Stephen Witton is the secretary of the Lahn Artists.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/byJFParanagua\u03011_8_7.14s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7110\" alt=\"byJFParanagua\u03011_8_7.14s\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/byJFParanagua\u03011_8_7.14s.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/byJFParanagua\u0301_8.7-2014s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7109\" alt=\"byJFParanagua\u0301_8.7-2014s\" src=\"http:\/\/www.icbie.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/byJFParanagua\u0301_8.7-2014s.jpg\" width=\"576\" height=\"384\" \/><\/a><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Reunion with friends at the Fazendinha Sult\u00e3o, in Santo Amaro, Bahia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last Sunday, July 6th, was a very special day for me and my family.\u00a0 We received a warm visit from our friends Pietro Gallina, Marlene Souza, the German lady Renate Kuby and the Englishman Stephen Whitton, at our property in the country outside the city of Santo Amaro, in Bahia.<\/p>\n<p>The couple Kuby and Whitton really deserved a red carpet welcome for their visit.\u00a0 Besides the pleasure, their visit was a way for my wife Shirley and our children Iamani and Irani to repay them for their marvelous hospitality when I, along with other friends led by Pietro Gallina, visited their lovely town rof Kaltenholzhausen, near Limburg, Germany.<\/p>\n<p>After being introduced to our workers, they toured the fruit plantations, tasting the treats.\u00a0 Kuby and Whitton were particularly impressed by the Urucum (a seed used by the Indians as a dye to color their faces and skin), the sapodilla, the limes and the varieties of plants in the thickets. Before lunch, an appetizer of rennet cheese and nice cold beer was served.\u00a0 Then came a churrasco with meat, sausage, chicken, drover beans and other dishes.\u00a0 We toasted to our meeting with a bottle of delicious Chilean wine. Recebemos com uma recep\u00e7\u00e3o calorosa a visita dos amigos Pietro Gallina, Marlene Souza, a alem\u00e3 Renate Kuby e o ingl\u00eas Stephen Whitton, em nossa propriedade na zona rural do munic\u00edpio de Santo Amaro, Rec\u00f4ncavo baiano.<\/p>\n<p>O casal Kuby e Whitton bem que merecia um tapete vermelho na sua chegada. Brincadeiras a parte, mas, procurei retribuir, ao lado de minha mulher Shirley e das filhotas Iamani e Irani, a maravilhosa acolhida que eu e outros amigos na companhia de Pietro Gallina, em viagem de interc\u00e2mbio cultural, recebemos durante a nossa estada em suas resid\u00eancias, na agrad\u00e1vel localidade de Kaltenholzhausen, em Limburg, na Alemanha.<\/p>\n<p>Depois de conhecerem as depend\u00eancias da sede, eles percorreram as \u00e1reas de plantio de frutas, saboreando algumas. Kuby e Whitton ficaram impressionados com o Urucum (semente utilizada como corante e pelos \u00edndios na pintura dos rostos e dos corpos), o sapotizeiro, a limeira e a variedade de arvoredos. Antes do almo\u00e7o, foi servido tira-gosto de queijo coalho no espeto com uma \u201cceva\u201d bem gelada. Logo ap\u00f3s, um churrasco com carne, calabresa, frango, feij\u00e3o tropeiro, dentre outros pratos. Brindamos esse reencontro saboreando um delicioso vinho tinto chileno.
