Saturday, May 31st, the ICBIE inaugurated a new wing of its cultural ‘castle’:\u00a0 the “ME.PE. Project – Peninsula Memories – an exposition space and a big laboratory devoted to the history of the Itapagipe peninsula, in Salvador’s cidade baixa,” to preserve it for those who live there or for those who have visited this bay within the Bay of All Saints.\u00a0 It was a great party with a lot of guests, friends and members of the ICBIE, but above all, many local residents who showed their curiosity and were amazed to see the history of their area in the time-worn and faded photographs.<\/p>\n

The ME.PE. is ‘in progress,’ because it is open to anyone who wishes to help to enrichen it, through stories, photos, objects, etc.\u00a0 The primary voice comes from photographs of the districts that comprise the peninsula, with buildings, historic events, people, churches and meeting places, elements of nature, traditions and artistic or cultural events.<\/p>\n

History is also an opportunity to write new chapters:\u00a0 on Sunday, June 15th, the ME.PE. will host “The Ball is Round.” an event that, right during the madness of the World Cup, intends to restore the game of soccer to its roots, carrying it back to the communal and popular sphere, to the game and its recreative nature.<\/p>\n

\nde Itapagipe, na cidade baixa de Salvador, para devolve-la aos seus moradores ou \u00e0
\nquem pelo menos uma vez visitou essa ba\u00eda dentro da Bahia de Todos os Santos.
\nFoi uma bela festa com muitos visitantes, amigos e s\u00f3cios do ICBIE, mas, sobretudo
\nmoradores da Pen\u00ednsula, todos curiosos, maravilhados e surpreendidos em observar a
\nhist\u00f3ria do seu territ\u00f3rio dentro daquelas imagens um pouco desvanecidas pelo tempo.<\/p>\n

O ME.PE. \u00e9 em movimento porque \u00e9 aberto para quem quiser contribuir e enriquec\u00ea-
\nlo atrav\u00e9s de contos, fotografias, objetos, etc. A voz principal \u00e9 a das fotografias
\nrepresentantes dos bairros que comp\u00f5em a Pen\u00ednsula, com os seus edif\u00edcios, eventos
\nhist\u00f3ricos, pessoas, lugares de culto (sagrado e profano), elementos da natureza,
\ntradi\u00e7\u00f5es e manifesta\u00e7\u00f5es art\u00edstico-culturais.<\/p>\n

A hist\u00f3ria \u00e9 a ocasi\u00e3o para escrever novos cap\u00edtulos: domingo, 15 de junho, o ME.PE.
\nser\u00e1 movimentado atrav\u00e9s do evento \u201cA bola \u00e9 redonda\u201d, que mesmo durante as
\ngrandezas da Copa quer devolver ao futebol seus elementos caracterizantes que o
\nfazem um esporte comum e popular, um jogo e uma recrea\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n

\nespositivo e un grande laboratorio che apre il racconto sulla storia della penisola di
\nItapagipe, nella Salvador \u201cbaixa\u201d, per restituirlo al coro di chi abita o si \u00e8 immerso
\nalmeno una volta in questa baia dentro la Bahia de Todos os Santos.
\n\u00c8 stata una bella festa con tanti ospiti, amici e soci dell\u00b4ICBIE e soprattutto abitanti dei
\ndintorni tutti curiosi, meravigliati e stupiti di osservare la storia del pr\u00f3prio territ\u00f3rio dentro
\nquelle immagini un p\u00f3 sbiadite dal tempo.<\/p>\n

Il ME.PE. \u00e8 ‘in movimento’, perch\u00e9 \u00e9 aperto a quanti vogliano contribuire e arricchirlo
\nattraverso racconti, fotografie, oggetti, ecc. La voce principale \u00e8 affidata dunque ai
\nritratti fotografici dei quartieri che compongono la penisola, con i suoi edifici, eventi
\nstorici, persone, luoghi di culto (sacro e profano), elementi della natura, tradizioni e
\nmanifestazioni artistico \u2013 culturali.<\/p>\n

La storia \u00e8 occasione per scrivere nuovi capitoli: domenica 15 giugno il ME.PE.
\nospiter\u00e0 \u201cA bola \u00e8 redonda\u201d un evento che, proprio durante i fasti dei Mondiali, intende
\nriconsegnare al calcio gli elementi che lo riconducono alla sfera comune e popolare, al
\ngioco e alla sua natura ri-creativa.<\/p>\n
