The most ambitious ICBIE theater production in recent memory delighted the audiences for three nights last week.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>\n

Here’s what Pietro had to say about it, followed by an introduction to the work and its plot. <\/em><\/p>\n

s\u00ec, gli spettacoli sono finiti e fino all\u2019ultimo si \u00e8 avuta suspence sul fatto di andare in scena o no per la solita assenza o impossibilit\u00e0 di alcuni partecipanti… se non fosse stato per Silvia, Meg, Marlene, Marcella, Fabio, ma anche con la passione che Bigod e Julio hanno avuto nel darci una mano e sostituire personaggi mancanti… fino a Lais figlia di Lu che ha imparato rapidamente una parte di una attrice assente\u00a0 per l\u2019ultimo spettacolo di sabato. Insomma il batticuore e i nervi a pezzi finch\u00e9 l\u2019ultimo di sabato \u00e8 stato veramente emozionante con un successo di pubblico straordinario: dei 50 posti a sedere tutti occupati, ne abbiamo avuti almeno altri 30 in piedi. Hanno partecipato oltre ovviamente ai genitori e amici anche tante persone del quartiere, tra cui Rominil che ha amato lo spettacolo e persone che in genere non frequentano l\u2019ICBIE, sia adulti che giovanissimi e bambini i quali all\u2019apparizione del terribile Drag\u00e3o nel buio, hanno cominciato a piangere per la paura… ma alla fine hanno gioito per la sua eliminazione. Insomma trionfo finale del sabato con grande festa insieme a tutti gli spettatori e ognuno ha portato cibi e bevande per sfamare gli attori affamatissimi… purtroppo niente alcolici! Paranagu\u00e0, Andrea Gandolfi di Bologna, Mauro Porru, Carlo Loria e famiglia, Raoul Poleggi, altra gente di teatro ci hanno fatto sentiti complimenti per le musiche, la bravura dei neo attori, i disegni di Bigod, la regia e il testo revisionato di alto contenuto sociale. Le foto sono tre mie e la maggioranza dell\u2019ospite di S\u00e3o Paulo Daniel Varoni, che bisogner\u00e0 citarlo. Credo per\u00f2 che anche Paranagu\u00e0 ti mander\u00e0 le sue che sono proprio di sabato sera, con pi\u00f9 pubblico. Le foto allegate riguardano la seconda replica di venerd\u00ec.<\/p>\n

Introdu\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cidade em perigo \u00e9 uma vers\u00e3o atualizada por Pietro Gallina com musicas de J. Cabral elaboradas por Roy Zimmerman da famosa pe\u00e7a teatral O Drag\u00e3o Verde de Maria Clara Machado apresentada pela primeira vez, no Teatro Tablado no Rio de Janeiro em Julho de 1984.<\/p>\n

Os fatos acontecem como nos contos de fadas em uma cidade imagin\u00e1ria que representa o Brasil, em um per\u00edodo parecido com a renascen\u00e7a europ\u00e9ia, mas bem brasileiro e com caracter\u00edsticas dos nossos tempos modernos.\u00a0 Nessa hist\u00f3ria, Rei, Rainha e c\u00f4rte lutam juntos com o povo contra um perigo n\u00e3o identificado, personificado em um drag\u00e3o de origem animal que pode simbolizar tantas coisas.<\/p>\n

Nesta vers\u00e3o que foi apresentada no ICBIE o verdadeiro perigo \u00e9 individuado no crack e no bandido traficante \u201cDrag\u00e3o Preto\u201d que o vende e que \u00e9 representado como um monstro da vida real. O povo ent\u00e3o decide lutar em uma guerra que \u00e9\u00a0 quase imposs\u00edvel vencer; mas a comunidade\u00a0 quer acabar com essa calamidade do crack propondo a vit\u00f3ria do amor, da f\u00e9 e da coragem contra esta droga pesada\u00a0 que mata tantas vitimas que na maioria s\u00e3o inocentes.<\/p>\n

TRAMA<\/strong><\/p>\n

A cidade imagin\u00e1ria de Campos \u00e9 massacrada por mortes devido ao uso do crack, droga terr\u00edvel que n\u00e3o perdoa quem faz uso dela. O bandido traficante Drag\u00e3o Preto \u00e9 quem vende a droga e al\u00e9m de matar as pessoas com o crack, com muita crueldade, mata tamb\u00e9m com a sua metralhadora. Ningu\u00e9m consegue prend\u00ea-lo, a pol\u00edcia com armas modernas e os cidad\u00e3os organizados tentaram de tudo, por\u00e9m ele fica sempre mais forte. O Prefeito desesperado tenta oferecer aos combatentes corajosos v\u00e1rios pr\u00eamios, mas n\u00e3o \u00e9 convincente at\u00e9 n\u00e3o oferecer em esposa a mais bela jovem da cidade, a sua filha Aurora. Tr\u00eas cavalheiros treinados pelo famoso mestre de armas Golias, se prop\u00f5em para combater o terr\u00edvel traficante, e tamb\u00e9m um estranho pretendente mascarado que em nome do amor se junta aos tr\u00eas.<\/p>\n

No combate contra o Drag\u00e3o os tr\u00eas ficam feridos e machucados; mas ser\u00e1 que o\u00a0 mascarado ir\u00e1 vencer em\u00a0 nome do amor pela linda Aurora?<\/p>\n

Yes, the performances are finished and up to the last minute there was suspense whether the show could go on or not, because of the usual absences or impediments of various participants… if it weren’t for Silvia, Meg, Marlene, Marcella, Fabio, but also with the passion that Bigod and Julio showed, giving us a hand and substituting missing actors… and finally Lais, Lu’s daughter who quickly learned the part of an actress missing for the last show on Saturday. All said,\u00a0 palpitations and the rattled nerves right through to the final performance on Saturday, which was truly moving, with an extraordinary reception by the audience: all fifty seats were taken and we had at least thirty others standing in the back.\u00a0 All the parents came, obviously, and friends and lots of other people in the neighborhood, including Rominil who loved the show and other people who normally don’t come to the ICBIE, both adults and young kids who started crying when the terrible Dragon appeared in the dark… but who at the end were overjoyed when he was killed. In short, Saturday was the final triumph with a big party together with all the spectators and everyone brought food and drinks to feed the starving actors… but unfortunately there was nothing alcoholic! Paranagu\u00e0, Andrea Gandolfi from Bologna, Mauro Porru, Carlo Loria his family, Raoul Poleggi and other theater people all expressed heartfelt compiments for the music, the talents of the young actors, the scenery by Bigod, the direction and the revision of the script, for its edifying social message. Three of the photos are mine but the rest are by our guest from S\u00e3o Paulo, Daniel Varoni, who deserves credit for them. But I believe that Paranagu\u00e0 will also send his own, taken on Saturday night, with a bigger crowd.\u00a0 The present photos are from the second performance, on Friday.<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/strong><\/p>\n

City in Danger is Pietro Gallina’s updated version, with music by J. Cabral arranged by Roy Zimmerman, of the famous theater play O Drag\u00e3o Verde by Maria Clara Machado, which debuted at the Teatro Tablado in Rio de Janeiro in July, 1984.<\/p>\n

The events happen as in a fairy tale in an imaginary city that is modeled upon Brazil, in un period that seems like the European Renaissance but is thoroughly Brazilian and with characteristics of contemporary life.\u00a0 In this story, the King, Queen and court struggle together with the people against a non-identified danger, personified by a dragon, an animal that can symbolize many things.<\/p>\n

In this version presented at the ICBIE, the true danger becomes crack and “Black Dragon,” the bandit drug dealer who sells it and who is shown as a monster in real life.\u00a0 The people then decide to fight a war that is almost impossible to win; but the community wants to stop the calamity of crack through a victory of love, faith and courage, against this hard drug that kills so many victims, the majority of whom are innocent.<\/p>\n

PLOT<\/strong><\/p>\n

The imaginary city Campos is devastated by deaths caused by the use of crack, a terrible drug that does not pardon those who use it.\u00a0 The bandit dealer Black Dragon sells the drug and, as well as killing people with crack, he also cruelly kills with his machine gun. No one manages to capture him, the police with modern arms and the organized citizens try everything, but he always proves to be too strong. The mayor, in desperation, tries to offer various prizes to the most courageous combattants, but that doesn’t work until he offers the hand of the most beautiful girl in the city, his daughter Aurora. Three knights, trained by the famous master of arms Golias, come forward, offering to combat the terrible dealer, but also a masked stranger who in the name of love comes forward with the other three.<\/p>\n

In combat with the Dragon, the three knights are beaten and injured; can it be that the masked one who came to win in the name of love will be the one to marry the beautiful Aurora?<\/p>\n
