This week, the city of Salvador, like hundreds of important cities around the globe, is celebrating the Italian language, and the ICBIE is playing a major role, along with the Federal University of Bahia.\u00a0 Yesterday Marlene, together with our friend Stefano Barbi Cinti (director of “Italia Amica”) and two university professors, Jade Cabral (ILUFBA) and Guido Galeffi (ACIBDA), participated in a round table discussion at the UFBA, discussing the status of Italian education in Salvador.\u00a0 The day’s events finished with a showing of Gianni Amelio’s film “La stella che non c’\u00e8” (“The star that isn’t there”) with a presentation by Mauro Porru and Raoul Poleggi.\u00a0 The events of today and tomorrow will focus on the Italian author Fabio Stassi, including a dramatic recitation of his prose by the the ICBIE theater troupe, led by our rising star, Meg Boaventura.\u00a0 Finally, the festival will close at 6:30 on Friday with a concert at the ICBIE, in honor of Fabio Stassi.<\/p>\n
