On Saturday, June 3, the ICBIE hosted the launching of the book “Dialogues with the City: What the Spray Poets Say!” by our dear collaborator and friend Jos\u00e9 Paranagu\u00e1.<\/p>\n

The night of his second book launch brought a lot of movement to the ICBIE, as people from all parts of Salvador came to attend this very important moment, both for our Institute and for graffiti artists from around the world.<\/p>\n<\/div>[vc_images_carousel images=”24250,24248,24253,24245,24258,24257,24254,24259,24252,24256,24255,24249,24251″ img_size=”full” partial_view=”yes”]

Paranagu\u00e1 had already had the first launch of his book in the previous month of May at the Goethe Institute, but he made a point of having a second launch in the main hall of the big house as a way of showing us his love and appreciation for the ICBIE and for all the work that our Pietro Gallina had idealized.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The launch was a success. After a brief presentation of the book, we sat at a table composed of him, Paranagu\u00e1 the author, his wife Shirley, his daughters Iamani and Irani, the President of the ICBIE Marlene de Souza and the Honorary President Marcella Sgura. After this moment of speech, in which Paranagu\u00e1 shared with those present stories of moments in which he traveled to Italy with our dearly missed Pietro, as well as the stories behind some of the photographs that make up his second book, those present were invited to ask questions and raise doubts and curiosities.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paranagu\u00e1 told that he has been cataloging photos for this his second book since the 1980s until 2017, when his book was already ready, but its release was delayed due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Paranagu\u00e1 had already launched his first book at the ICBIE headquarters in 2017 with the title “A Arte na Rua- Resgate de interven\u00e7\u00f5es art\u00edsticas em Salvador”.<\/p>\n

Congratulations, Paranagu\u00e1 for another book and success!<\/p>\n
