All friends of the ICBIE are invited to a big Brazilian party next Saturday night. Organized by the dynamic staff of the ICBIE Italia, the evening promises to be a lively one, with our rambunctious friends Akuna Matata offering their thundering Batucada de Samba; our new friend Julio Enrique Lopez da Silva, freshly arrived from Recife, will take the floor for a performance of Maracatu, a rare ceremonial Afro-Brazilian dance from the far north east, in Pernambuco; and our staunch supporter DJ Damiao will end the evening with his tail shaking mixes.
The party marks the launching of ICBIE Italia’s subscription campaign, and everyone who enters will become a card-carrying member of our association. And of course, it will be another magic occasion, when the ever-growing group of Italian ICBIE supporters can get together.
The appointment is at Beba do Samba, the same club where our student Val is giving her samba lessons, on via dè Messapi, 8, in the trendy San Lorenzo area, at 9 PM. Don’t miss it, and bring ALL your friends!
